Financiers – Plain
Named for the Parisian business men who favored this simple gouter, the petite almond flour cookies known as financier were originally shaped to resemble rectangular bars of gold. Legend has it that the pastries were invented by a baker whose shop was on the Rue St.-Denis, near the Bourse, the financial district in Paris. This is our version of the original Financiers. A delicious buttery almond cake.
